In May 2016, CreativeMornings / Chattanooga gathered for the first time at the Edney in the heart of Chattanooga's growing Innovation District. Engineer, founder, and host of Developer Tea, Jonathan Cutrell, gave a talk that explored how time affects our perspective, and what we could learn about creative work from that.
Today, over 3 years later, Chattanooga's CreativeMornings chapter has hosted over 30 talks, consumed over 150 gallons of coffee and 2,000+ donuts, and helped more than 1,000 Chattanooga creatives build stronger relationships with one another. We've explored topics ranging from city planning to ceramics, creative citizenship to racial reconciliation, anxiety to wonder, and more. Being a creative can be isolating. Our goal in bringing CreativeMornings to Chattanooga was to offer a consistent invitation to connect with like-minded individuals. From design legends to hometown heroes, speakers are selected by each chapter based on a global theme.
Everyone is creative.
A creative life requires bravery and action, honesty and hard work. We are here to support you, celebrate with you, and encourage you to make the things you love.
We believe in the power of community. We believe in giving a damn. We believe in face-to-face connections, in learning from others, in hugs and high fives.
We bring together people who are driven by passion and purpose, confident that they will inspire one another, and inspire change in neighborhoods and cities around the world.
Everyone is welcome.
“It was a call to step outside of what’s comfortable, to cross boundaries and blur lines, to be present in our community, and above all, to build relationships. Because we’re so much more when we're together.”
